Overview
Similarly to adding slides on mmhmm for Mac and Windows, you can enhance your recording or call on mmhmm for web by sharing visuals. Read more below to learn how to get started.
How to add visuals
- While recording a video or in a call, click on the "Visuals" button on the bottom left-hand side of the screen to reveal the visuals menu.
- Choose your type of visual by first clicking on "Add" and then selecting the type of visual you'd like to share.
Any visual you share will appear under the "Recently Added" header. This will allow you to quickly share these visuals in the future by selecting them from the list:
Types of visuals in mmhmm for web
You can create different types of visuals in mmhmm for web:
- File from computer
- GIPHY
- Text
- Whiteboard
- mmhmm Camera
- Poll
- mmhmm TV
- Entire Screen or window (screen share)
File from computer
You can import your existing slide decks and other files into mmhmm to enhance your mmhmm for web video. To do this, click on "File from computer" in the "Add" dropdown menu.
You can then navigate to the file on your hard drive and select one to add to your video. To add multiple files simultaneously:
- On Mac, hold the Shift key down while you click the files you want.
- On Windows, hold the Ctrl key down while you click the files you want.
Alternatively, you can add files from your computer by dragging and dropping your files into mmhmm for web.
Types of files supported:
- PNG
- JPEG
- MP4
- Quicktime
- Powerpoint (pptx)
- Keynote (key)
Photo or video files such as PNGs, JPEGs, or MP4s will automatically appear on the mmhmm for web stage. Click and drag them to reposition them on the screen, or click on the "Size" button below to have them fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
Presentation files such as Powerpoint or Keynote files will appear under the "Presentations" header on the left-hand side of the screen.
Note: this list will also include all mmhmm presentations you've created on the mmhmm for Mac desktop app.
Click on the presentation you want to share, and then use your mouse or the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard to cycle through your presentation slide deck.
GIPHY
To add an animated GIF to your video or call, select GIPHY in the "Add" dropdown menu. Then, search GIPHY to find an appropriate GIF by keyword. Click on your desired GIF and select "Add" to add it to your video.
Click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
Text
You can add text to your video - it’s simple on purpose, so your audience doesn’t have to read much text while you’re speaking. Click on “Text” in the “Add” dropdown menu to get started.
In the window that appears, write the text you want to be displayed on your mmhmm stage. Then choose between a light or dark theme. When you're ready, click "Add Text".
Your text will now appear in the mmhmm window. To edit your text, click on the "Edit" button. Then click "Update Text" to confirm your edit.
Click and drag the text to reposition it on the screen, or click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
Whiteboard
Start a whiteboard to illustrate your point and draw with your audience. Click on "Whiteboard" in the “Add” dropdown menu to get started.
Hover over the whiteboard with your mouse to reveal the controls. You can choose between a thick or thin brushstroke, eight different colors, and even clear the whiteboard by clicking "Clear".
Once you are ready to draw, click and drag your mouse across the whiteboard. Click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
mmhmm Camera
Harness the power of mmhmm for Mac or Windows by sharing your mmhmm camera. Click on "mmhmm Camera" in the “Add” dropdown menu to get started.
Note: You must have the mmhmm app open on your computer in order for this to work. If you don't, you'll see a message asking you to "launch the mmhmm app."
Once you've shared your mmhmm camera, choose your desired mmhmm presentation in the mmhmm for Mac or Windows app, and it will appear as a visual in mmhmm for web.
Click and drag the mmhmm Camera feed to reposition it on the screen, or click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
Poll
You can start a quick poll in mmhmm for web by clicking on "Poll" in the “Add” dropdown menu. This will create a poll and add it to your "Recently Added" list so you can share the same poll later.
Use the "Poll" button below to edit your poll. You can edit the question and have up to five options on one poll. Once you've confirmed your poll settings, click on the "Poll" button again to hide the edit window.
Click and drag yourself onto your desired answer to vote in the poll.
mmhmm TV
Start a watch party by choosing "mmhmm TV" in the “Add” dropdown menu. This will reveal a menu where you can select mmhmm videos you have published or videos others shared with you. If you are part of an mmhmm for Teams subscription, you will also be able to watch videos shared on [My Organization]TV. You can also enter a mmhmm video URL in the box at the bottom of the window. Then, click "Play" to start watching the video.
Once you have started playback, you can click and drag the mmhmm video player to reposition it on the screen or click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".

Entire Screen or Window (Screen Share)
Share your computer screen or window by choosing "Entire Screen or Window" in the “Add” dropdown menu.
Click and drag the screen share feed to reposition it on the screen or click on the "Size" button below to have it fill up the entire stage. To stop sharing, click "Stop".
