• Your Gif game is about to get a whole lot better. You can now quickly search GIPHY and add slides to mmhmm. We'd say "Use responsibly" but we haven't been and we doubt you will either.
• Movies, screen shares and second cameras can now have captions. "Breaking news: Local area resident shares video of vacation in own backyard".
• Have an image on your clipboard? If you paste in mmhmm you'll get a new slide with that image. The only surprise is that we didn't support this before.

• You can now import PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF documents. Each page will become its own slide in mmhmm. You asked for it, but please don't import your TPS reports.
• Text slides can now be created directly in mmhmm. It's quick and easy, like take out food but with 98.2% less polystyrene.
• Images can now have captions. "Breaking news - Many lawyers are cats pretending to be human".
• Text and image captions have several different appearances to choose from, but if you don't want to choose you can let mmhmm pick the right one for your room. It's kinda like Omakaze, but for your eyes instead of your mouth.
• Each slide can have its own room and presentation settings. You can go from a pub in london to the inside of a boom box, just by changing slides.
• Slide changes now animate. Woosh - is the sound it would make if it made sound, but it doesn't. You're welcome.

• A cropped presenter in full-frame mode can now be easily reset to un-cropped using the handy dandy crop cancel buttons

Improvements:

The new Broadcast option under the Window menu creates a duplicate display of mmhmm’s output that can be placed on the second monitor, AirPlayed to an external device, etc.

Improvements :

Easier resizing of circle and rectangle face masks
When you’re using the circle or rectangle masks and mouse over your face on stage, the drag-to-resize box is now sized to just the mask.

Issues resolved:

#0570 - Resolved an issue that caused a second or two of blank or flickering video at the start of recordings.

#0825 - Resolved an issue that could cause the mmhmm Assistant to fail to start.
#1000 - Resolved a crash.
#1062 - Resolved a problem that caused the aspect ratio of your video to be incorrect when using certain cameras in portrait orientation.

Improvements:

More stable masks

If you use the circle and rectangle masks around your face, you’ll see much smoother action in how the camera follows you, even if you move around. No more looking like you’re being viewed through a telescope on a rocky boat.

Tips bar

We’ve created a new status bar at the top of the page. If mmhmm were KITT from Knight Rider, this is where it would talk to you. This display will provide, among other things, helpful tips for making the most of your mmhmm experience. (If you’re looking for the slide sizer, it’s down in the slide tray now.)

Halloween rooms

Trick or treating may have been canceled, but that doesn’t mean you can’t show off your best Halloween get-up on your next video call. To give you a better backdrop, we’ve added six Halloween-themed rooms in our room catalog. Your nasal swab costume is going to look awesome in front of the autumn forest, ghost cuties, spooky pumpkin path and more.

Here come the lasers

Present like a pro with our fancy new laser pointer, which comes in multiple colors and even rainbow mode. It's easy to master, and you'll be one step closer to Jedi Knighthood. Try clicking while pointing to temporarily draw on the stage.

More rooms, more fun

Our catalog of dynamic rooms keeps expanding. Now you have even more places to go—something we could all use these days!

Raising the bar

The tab bar now behaves as you’d expect it to. You can now drag tabs to reorder them, plus every time you launch mmhmm it restores the tabs you previously had open so you can pick up right where you left off.

Konichiwa!

We’ve got a great community in Japan, so you can now use mmhmm in Japanese. We’ll be adding more languages soon.

New hotkeys

• P: Toggle the laser pointer on and off

An eye toward privacy
Mmhmm now disconnects from your camera when you turn on away mode, so you can be sure you’re not being seen.

#171 - Fixed a problem that could cause the slide selection to randomly jump back to the first slide.
#365 - Video slides now appear in the correct orientation.
#685 - The away screen no longer appears dimmed when slides are in full-screen mode.
#727 - Slide selection no longer changes when multi-selecting additional slides.
#834 - Display an error if the camera or microphone connection is lost during a recording.
#842 - Fixed a bug that could cause the screen share selection sheet to detach from the main mmhmm window.

Improvements:

Easily move and resize your slides

Did you know that you could change the size and position of your slides on the stage? No? Neither did anyone else! With this update, you can move and resize your slides by simply mousing over them on the stage. Click and drag to move them, or click and drag the edges to resize.

Customize your rooms

The rooms panel on the right side of the mmhmm window now allows you to set up your rooms the way you want them:

• Add a new room by clicking the Add room button and choosing a file. For the best quality, use an image size of 1920x1080.
• Put your favorite rooms at the top of the list (and assign them keyboard shortcuts) by simply dragging them into the position that you want.
• To change the room’s settings, select a room then click on the gear icon. Be sure to try this out for the dynamic rooms!
• Rename a room while editing the room’s settings by clicking the Edit button next to the room name.

Camera slides
You can now create slides that show video from a second camera. This is great for showing a whiteboard, device screen, or second speaker.

Performance: We’ve heard that some MacBooks are hustling so hard to run mmhmm that it feels like they’re trying to lift off from your desk. We’ve improved the engines that separate you from your background and pass video around, so mmhmm now takes up way less CPU. You should see a big performance improvement today, and we’ll be squeezing even more speed from the code in the coming weeks.

Try the four new dynamic rooms: Rippled, Bubbles, Marbled, and Silk. Dynamic rooms are beautiful, endlessly customizable, efficient, and unique. Try customizing the colors, shapes, and speed in the room manager to create a background unique to you.

Record your show
Press the record button and choose Record to File to start recording your show. When you’re done, press the record button again to stop recording and save your show.
