When mmhmm cannot recognize an app window that it cannot "see", it may not display your screenshare slide.
Stream error
App windows that appear minimized in your dock will not be available to screen share in mmhmm until they are restored. If you attempt to share your app window and minimize it, you'll receive an error that states "Stream error - The stream has not provided any data after two seconds. If you are attempting to present a screen share slide, this may be indicative of operating system permission issues."
Maximize the desired app window to resolve this.
Sometimes a macOS permissions issue can cause this problem and can be resolved by following the steps below:
- Close the message by clicking the blue Close button.
- Click the Apple logo at the top left-hand side of your computer screen and open System Settings.
- In System Settings, click Privacy & Security in the sidebar on the left.
- Scroll down and click Screen & System Audio Recording from the list.
- Uncheck mmhmm to disable screen recording. You may need to enter your computer's password to modify this list. Then re-check mmhmm to re-enable screen recording.
- Restart mmhmm by closing the mmhmm application and re-opening it.
- You should be able to screen share successfully.

Virtual backgrounds in your video conferencing app
Zoom, Google Meet, and several other video conferencing platforms offer the ability to apply virtual backgrounds to your webcam. This will prevent your audience from being able to see your mmhmm slides.
To resolve this issue, check that the virtual backgrounds feature is turned off in your video conferencing app:
