Video Conferencing Platforms
Mac
Here are the video conferencing platforms that mmhmm currently works with:
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Cisco Webex
- GoToMeeting
- Blue Jeans
- Facebook Messenger
- Houseparty
- Jitsi
- RingCentral Video
- WebinarNinja
- Vidyo
In some cases, mmhmm is compatible with a video platform's web app but not its desktop app. This is usually because plugins are only accepted on the web app. The known clients this is true for are:
- Microsoft Teams (Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.18164 appears to have broken all virtual camera functionality, however, you can use the web app. Read more in this thread.)
- Skype
- Slack - compatible on the native and web apps for Windows
- Discord
- Amazon Chime
Note: even for platforms not listed here, if the tool has a share screen functionality, you can always share the mmhmm window. If your desired video or conferencing tool accepts apps that stream video, there's a good chance mmhmm will be compatible.
Due to macOS restrictions, mmhmm cannot currently be used with some of Apple's built-in apps such as FaceTime or Photo Booth.
Windows
Here are the video conferencing desktop apps that mmhmm for Windows currently works with:
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Slack
- Microsoft Teams
- Cisco Webex
Note: even for platforms not listed here, if the tool can has a share screen functionality, you can always share the mmhmm window. If your desired video or conferencing tool accepts apps that stream video, there's a good chance mmhmm will be compatible.
